This is the first Detached Sonoran ADU to begin construction in the City of Tucson. Designed with both the self-builder and professional contractor in mind, this project is intended to be accessible and adaptable for either approach. This Barrio ADU is being self-built by Silva+Havens, with a focus on creating an open job site where people can observe the construction process or even participate if desired. We will be documenting each step of the build, providing a valuable resource for future self-builders to learn from and simplify their own construction journeys.
