Silva + Havens designs spaces. Our beginning was in advocating for the adoption of the ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) code amendment in Tucson, aiming to streamline the creation of affordable, high-quality housing. When the City of Tucson launched a competition for pre-approved ADU designs, we took the opportunity to ensure that a diverse range of exceptional, accessible options would be available to the public. Today, we are proud to have our design featured among the 10 models in the city’s official library.
Our studio’s work is centered around urban infill solutions and the creative exploration of materials and form. We specialize in crafting spaces that balance innovation with practicality, and our projects reflect a commitment to building better, more sustainable urban environments.
Our one-bedroom and studio Detached Sonoran ADUs are pre-approved by the City of Tucson, meaning the construction documents are stamped and ready for building. All that’s needed is an approved site plan—a drawing showing how your future ADU will sit on your property, including its setbacks and access to utilities. Most plans can be approved within a month. If you're requesting a closer setback or need to navigate historic neighborhoods, the process may take a bit longer. We’ve successfully passed historic reviews and setback modifications, so we’re very comfortable with the process.
